Also included is the complete history of Tang Soo Do and its founder Won Kuk Lee; a list the classical Korean Tang Soo Do Hyungs that were adapted from Japanese Kata and shared among the many Korean Kwans teaching Tang Soo Do following world War II. During WWII, U.S. soldiers attacking mainland Japan forced the Japanese occupational forces in Korea to leave and join the Japanese military who were using Korean and Chinese men and boys dressed in Japanese military uniforms to face the U.S. military hoping the U.S. soldiers would run out of ammunition on non-Japanese soldiers. Also included are the relationships between classical Korean Hyungs and it's animal symbol, the importance of Tang Soo Do post-war Korean Kwans and the many early Kwan founders and leaders. Also included is a table of the early Kwans and details of the Kwan's founders and the several styles taught at each Kwan. Over 200 drawings included of movements for the reader to visualize each step of each Hyungs making learning and remembering the beginning and intermediate Tang Soo Do Hyungs. Each technique's drawing is numbered and matches with written instruction. Line drawings are included matching Hyung floor movements and directions of motion for each step of the Hyungs. Also included is a high level perspective drawing of the area as a practitioner moves through the Hyung. These diagrams allows the practitioner to see the Hyungs in several perspectives to better understand what the creator had intended. This volume is to be used only as a memory aid to fix the technique order and supplement the required formal instructions from an experienced Tang Soo Do Black Belt Instructor.
